Today, HotJobs is among the top job search sites. HotJobs contains both U.S. and international job listings,
has a variety of job search options, a resume posting service and career tools for job seekers.
Yahoo Hotjobs is number 3 internet recruiting solutions company behind Monster and Career Builder.
It is a big challenge to keep up with it competitors and get ahead.
Hotjobs noticed that, beyond the verticals they own, newspapers desperately need to start syndicating
their classified listings online. In 2006, HotJobs seized this opportunity and partnered with nine major newspaper (parent) companies.
HotJobs now has partnerships with hundreds of newspapers around the country under the newspaper co-branding project.
Co-branding of the job board pages required to be customized for each news paper's location attributes,
look and feel, and custom links. The challenge was, these changes needed to be done daily bases while a regular
site modification/QA process was taking 3 weeks in average.
The volume and the daily management of co-branding and serving hundreds of newspaper job boards created
a big challenge, even for Yahoo!.
Hotjobs found the answer in Netformix YouPub™ for the task in hand. YouPub™ Backend Manager GUI simplified the
creating/managing of the co-branded pages, and enabled account managers to do the job instead of front-end
web developers. Thus, co-brand modifications are made, reviewed, and published in minutes, instead of
several weeks.
YouPub™'s smart caching feature enabled Hotjob's 30+ webserver to provide up-to-date content to 100s of newspapers
over 1.8M unique hits per day. The project in production since August 2007.
